What You’ll Be Doing
The Advanced Analytics and AI team is the central hub of data science expertise within CIBC, and is leading the way in applying the best practices in predictive science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, leveraging the latest in big data technology platforms. We engage in collaborations with the leading academic institutes in the space of AI and machine learning to promote the exchange of ideas and enrich our talent.
As a Data Scientist you will apply your knowledge and experience of data modelling to solve challenging business problems and bringing innovative solutions. You’ll interact with groups across the organization from products, segments, marketing to channels, risk and capital markets. You’ll work with real world structured and unstructured datasets to produce end-to-end solutions, taking models from experiment to deployment.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role you’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.
How You’ll Succeed
- Data Science Expertise- Provide advanced analytics solutions to solve business problem leveraging statistics, machine learning, generative AI, and optimization techniques. Ability to conduct self-directed research, typically using non-traditional resources to solve business problems.
- Trusted Analytical Partner- You will work with business units to understand their needs, opportunities and pain points. Translate data to insights and inform decision making. Focus on relationship building and become the trusted analytical partner.
- Ignite innovation, drive actions- Participate in an analytics community whose goal is to foster and share analytic approaches across the enterprise. Liaise with internal resources or academic institution to obtain and discuss best practices. Passionate innovator and collaborator who is up for the challenge of building bank of the future and drive results through application of AI and Machine Learning use cases.
Who You Are
- You can demonstrate in advanced knowledge of predictive analytics, forecasting, NLP and other advanced analytics techniques. You have extensive hands-on experience in one of the advanced analytics toolkits including: Python, SAS or R. You can demonstrate strong coding skills in writing SQL scripts to query databases and data warehouses along with translating data into insights and build visualization for different levels of audience. Its is also an asset if you have a proficiency in writing robust and efficient modular codes in an non-notebook environment along hands-on experience building end-to-end solutions with Large Language Models. Familiarity in using Git or other version control tools. You must also have a degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or other equivalent disciplines.
